Hello and welcome!
I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Handmade & Handcrafted! This blog is the beginning of a journey I’m on toward living a healthier, more self-sufficient life—and I want to invite you to join me!
Over the years, I’ve become increasingly concerned about the harmful ingredients lurking in the everyday products we use, particularly food and cosmetics. From endocrine and hormone disruptors to synthetic chemicals, plastic pollutants, food coloring, and emulsifiers—these things have a real impact on our health, yet many of us don’t even realize how much we’re exposed to them.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term “endocrine disruptors”—chemicals that can interfere with our body’s hormonal systems, leading to issues like infertility, obesity, and even certain cancers. But there’s so much more we should be aware of. Artificial food coloring, for instance, is known to cause hyperactivity and ADHD symptoms in children—and even adults are affected. Emulsifiers, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners are often added to foods to extend shelf life, but they can mess with our digestion, gut health, and overall well-being.
Then, there’s plastic. We’ve all heard about the harmful effects of plastics and microplastics, but did you know they can leach chemicals into the food we eat and even the air we breathe? Microplastics have made their way into everything from our oceans to our bodies—and that’s not okay.
This is why I decided to take matters into my own hands and start making things from scratch—food, cosmetics, cleaning products, and more—using only natural, safe ingredients. By becoming self-reliant, I can be sure that what’s going into our bodies is healthy and free from harmful chemicals.
In this blog, I’ll be sharing my journey of learning how to make healthy alternatives to store-bought products. I’ll show you how to make things like homemade ghee, natural skincare, simple remedies, and much more—using ingredients you can trust. I’ll also talk about the dangers of synthetic ingredients like emulsifiers, artificial colors, and preservatives, and how they might be affecting you and your family.
I hope that by reading this blog, you’ll feel empowered to make your own changes at home and live a long, happy, and healthy life. Together, we can build a future where we don’t need to rely on companies or corporations to take care of our well-being. Instead, we’ll know exactly what goes into the things we use every day—and be confident in the choices we make.
Let’s get started!
